In this era of unprecedented progress in information and communication Technology (ICT), the internet offers unlimited potentials to instantly gather and disseminate knowledge and information. One of the most powerful wings of the internet services is the webpage. I am delighted to note that the Rural Development and Cooperative Division (RDCD) has fulfilled a crucial need of pending its e-connectivity by hoisting its own webpage, which I firmly Believe, would much better serve the cause of ensuring an easy access to Information about its overall affairs.
The present government has started its journey with the vision of building a digital Bangladesh by 2021, which will be the golden jubilee year of independent Bangladesh. To achieve this vision, we need to optimally exploit all available facilities in the ICT sector. Moreover, making information available is essential also for achieving a) good governance and b) rapid poverty alleviation which remain among the five topmost priorities in the “Charter for Change” declared by Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. I strongly believe, the webpage would help people of the country and also across the globe to readily keep in touch with and updated about the mission, objectives and activities of RDCD, and thus add to promoting e-governance in its overall administration, management and development programmes. I also hope, the webpage would be updated, and expanded with new additions on a continued basis.
